3 Steps to Winning the Battle of the Bulge

Most people that are trying to lose weight will go about it the wrong way. Let your body work with you, instead of against you. A starvation diet will turn your body against you, and will mess up your metabolism.

There are natural ways to lose weight, which will give you quick results.

Tip #1 Changing Your Cooking Habits

Our way of cooking will have a huge effect on our weight. The preparation of your food makes a big difference if the food is healthy and lower in calories.

Frying your food in fats and oils will not be tolerated! This only adds a lot of calories. Frying your foods in a non-stick pan without all of the oil is much better. If you must add some oil, Extra Virgin Olive oil is the healthy choice. It is more natural, lower in cholesterol and is heart smart.

When you are cooking, remember that baking your food is better than frying. Grilling your steaks and chicken is even better. When it comes to other food and vegetables, see if you can boil or steam it. This will leave more nutrients intact, and it will taste better.

Tip #2 Eating the Food

Make time to eat and enjoy your food. Savour all the flavours. A lot has changed since dinner time was the time the whole family sat down together to eat and talk about the day. These days everyone is in such a rush.

By eating slower you will give your body a chance to feel full. That's just how it is. Your saliva will have a chance to kick in if you eat slower, and this will help your digestive system. You will lose weight from eating slower.

3. Lose weight by Exercising

Sure, if do nothing else but run 20 miles every day you would be able to eat anything you wanted to. But, you might also drop dear from a stroke or heart attack. To lose weight in a healthy way you need to find a balance between exercising correctly and eating right. They go together like bacon and eggs, excuse the pun.

When burning calories to lose weight and stay healthy, the right exercise is important. When you want to melt of pounds, aerobic exercise is what you want to target.

Jogging, running, swimming, rowing, cycling and dancing are all considered aerobic type exercise workouts. Aerobics kicks your body's metabolism into high gear to burn those calories.

If you workout with aerobics for a minimum of 30 minutes per session, you will keep your metabolism running for the rest of the day. Have as a goal to do this 4 times a week, combine with your healthy and will see magic happen. Your fat cells will actually burn off. You will burn more calories the longer you exercise.

A. Caution: If you have not been working out then move into this slowly. You will need to build up to longer sessions without possibly hurting yourself. Your body needs to adjust and build into longer exercise regimens.

B. Many individuals will use rowing machines, treadmills, stationary bikes, or have Olympic size swimming pools installed in their backyards for the aerobics. Depending on your budget, you don't need to have any equipment to do aerobic workout sessions.

If you enjoy swimming, depending on where you live, many communities have swimming pools you can use for either a fee or free.
