There are two kinds of professionals in the world: those who love to eat and exercise right and those who simply dont know how to do it. Its not really the fault of the second type that they dont engage in exercise often. Most of the time, lifestyles are to blame. Its part of the accepted way of life- sedentary and fat accumulating.
Healthy Executives / Professionals
Andrea Brown who is a 32-year old graduate and a senior media consultant for Coca-Cola tries to work in a healthy life with her work:
"I eat small quantities of healthy foods. I make very purposeful food choices."
Andrea also uses stairs over lifts whenever possible. While this may add a few minutes to her day it will help keep Andreas Heart fit and strong.
Use the environment around you
Andrea live in an area surrounded by small hills so she likes to put on her walking gear and engage in some high intensity power walking. Her trips around the small hills take an average of 30 to 40 minutes at a time.
Andrea Comments:
"I have a lot of hills in my neighborhood, and that walk is tough.
Even Pregnant women can get involved
Denita Thompson-Maclin took up aqua exercises when she fell pregnant. Thompson-Maclin, who is a senior media consultant from Burrell Communications was worried of the threat of diabetes and preeclampsia.
I started aqua aerobics in my second or third month. I wasnt doing any exercise before this. I find it really helps. We do jumping jacks and run in the water.
Commercial Diets
Diets need to be approached with caution. Diets like Atkins and South Beach work for particular body chemistries only. They also work best if your lifestyle suits the diet.
High fat diets have been known to cause kidney issues, while low carbohydrate can cause dizziness, nausea and fainting spells. In general it is best to consult your Doctor and get his/her opinion on whether the diet will be beneficial.
If you get a green light on the new diet, remember that no diet can cause weight loss in one week. Be very careful of commercial diets that claim to be holders of secrets that the government hates or doctors hate.
Many commercial diets are launched without the government or many doctors knowing. These diets are not regulated by the government but this does not mean that they cannot do harm.
The use of diet pills is also not a good quick-fix alternative to exercising. The only drug that has been approved by the medical establishment is the chemical drug named orlistat, which is now being marketed under several brand names. - 15683
