Is Hoodia Gordonii a Good Appetite Suppressant?

By Caitlin Ryan

Are you looking for a way to obtain a gorgeous body? Does temptation get in the way of sticking to a healthy weight loss plan and achieving the beautiful physique you desire? What if there was a natural way to control your appetite without nasty side effects and give you the boost you need to succeed at weight loss?

Hoodia gordonii has become a very popular weight loss aid. It is helping hundreds of people like you find the willpower they need to succeed at weight loss. There are other appetite suppressants on the market. Some are stronger, some are less expensive, but how do they measure up against hoodia gordonii liquid supplements?

There are certain things to consider when looking for an appetite suppressant. Once you understand what goes into the efficacy of an appetite suppressant, you will be able to choose which one is best for your needs.

Strong appetite suppressants often contain stimulants such as caffeine or ginseng. If you are at all sensitive to caffeine, you may not feel very well if you take these types of weight loss aids. Many people feel jittery effects. If you have any heart problems, stimulant appetite suppressants may not be the best choice.

Hoodia gordonii does not have any known side effects, although diabetics should not take hoodia because of how it works. The active ingredient in hoodia gordonii is p57. This molecule suppresses appetite because it mimics glucose. We feel hungry when blood glucose levels drop and the brain sends a signal to create the sensation of hunger. This action may have a negative effect on the ability of a diabetic to control glucose levels.

This is partially why hoodia makes such a great choice in boosting your weight loss efforts. It does so in a more natural way then strong stimulant suppressants.

Cost is always a consideration when you are purchasing a weight loss aid. There are some expensive products on the market! Hoodia should not be terribly expensive, but it should not be cheap either for a very good reason.

Because hoodia became so popular, the South African government had to place restrictions on the sale of this cactus. In order to purchase pure hoodia gordonii, companies need to be CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) certified. Now the supply is lower and the demand is just as great. For this reason, black markets popped up and some weight loss companies purchase illegal, fake hoodia.

Obviously, if the company purchase hoodia illegally, the fake hoodia will be ineffective. Now you have wasted the money you spent and you will still have difficult sticking to a weight loss plan. The other scenario is a weight loss company that uses to little hoodia (to save on production cost and make a higher profit). Again, this would be a poor quality substitute for the pure hoodia supplements.

Many types of weight loss aids are sold in diet pill form, including hoodia. However, hoodia is also available in liquid form making it more efficient because it hits your system that much faster. You can expect appetite control much faster this way and see the end results (the gorgeous, slender body) that much faster. - 15683
