How To Wear A Church Suit

By Victor Santerino

The suit is still the number one garment worn to church each Sunday. Each and every week men of all denominations can be seen wearing not only church suits, but shoes, jewelry, and even hats. This article will give you some tips on choosing the proper suit and suit accessories for church.

Firstly, you should make a decision on what style suits him the best. The work suit you wear each week can suffice as a church suit, but is not nearly as interesting. Choose a unique design or pattern that you normally wouldn't wear to work and you will be much happier.

Next you should consider the color of your suit. Black can be worn to weddings and funerals, but should not be your usual Sunday color. Look at bright blues, grays, browns, and even khaki colored materials.

Once you've chosen your suit, shoes become a high priority in your search. Choose a pair of dress shoes with some design work and a lack of high gloss shine. This will make them less formal and more appropriate for church.

Next you should look at what type of tie to wear and how to wear it. Remember that this suit is not for the office and the four in the hand style of tying is not necessary. Also remember that it is perfectly acceptable to wear a tie that is unique and flashy.

Deciding on a hat should be the last area you ponder. The hat will do more than keep your head warm and dry. A church hat will show off your style and individuality over the hat-less man.

Jewelry can be worn almost without caution. I say almost without caution because it should not be assumed that wearing a piece of jewelry which might be offensive is okay. Rings, necklaces, and watches can all be adorned to add your own flare to your outfit.
