With all the misinformation and overblown claims found all over television and the internet these days, it can be difficult to know what to believe and what to dismiss. If you heard that simple stretching exercises can magically make you grow taller, it would probably be easy to ignore them as nonsense.
As crazy as it may sound though, it is in fact quite true. Plenty of studies have been conducted in recent years which prove exactly that. Stretching can indeed stretch out your muscles, increasing limb length and height.
Take for instance, pitchers in major league baseball. Years of hurling baseballs at great velocity has stretched out the throwing arm of the majority of major league pitchers to the point where they're 1-2 inches longer than their non-throwing arm on average.
In fact most of us will probably find that through the simple tasks we perform every day, our dominant arm has probably become at least slightly longer than our other arm. You can go ahead and test this now. Simple measure the length of each arm, from the same starting point, to the tip of your middle finger.
Now having longer arms of course is not helpful as far as height gain goes, or for much else for that matter, unless you're a boxer. For height gain, we need to target two key areas, the legs and the spine.
The spine may seem like an odd choice, but the vertebrae spaced at regular intervals throughout your spine can be increased in space, increasing height.
Here's another fun task you can perform to see just how flexible the spinal column truly is, and how the contracting and expanding of it is no myth. The daily rigors of walking and standing, and the forces of gravity on your spine actually work to compress it as the day extends. When you sleep (assuming you don't sleep standing up of course), your spine will decompress, as the pressures of gravity are taken off it.
With that trusty tape measure in hand, measure your height just before you go to bed one night, and then again the next morning when you awake. You should have gained an inch in height from the previous night. Without exercise this cycle will continue on, but with the proper training, you can see some permanent height increasing effects in your spinal area.
These fun little experiments should be proof positive that height growth is possible through simple stretching. Nothing good comes easily though, and these tasks will take time before results are seen. The sooner you get started, the sooner you can have a taller you. - 15683
